The Executive Board of the Central Bank of Tunisia (BCT) has decided to increase the Bank’s key rate by 25 basis points, to 7.25%.
The BCT said in an issued statement Wednesday that this decision will enter into effect from October 6, 2022.
It added that the board took this action in light of recent economic and financial developments and the outlook for inflation.
As a result, deposit and marginal lending facilities were increased to 6.25% and 8.25%, respectively, it was pointed out.
The Executive Board likewise decided to raise the rate of return on savings (ROS) by 25 basis points to 6.25%.
