Several individual taxi drivers in the city of Beni Khallad demonstrated today, Saturday, voicing their outrage over the damage they suffered following the deterioration of the road between Beni Khallad and Menzel Bouzelfa, and closed the road throughout the morning.
The delegate of Beni Khallad, Ridha Al-Ayesh, stated that he arrived at the scene and communicated with the protesters, expressing his understanding of their anger and convincing them to open the road and return to work.
He stated that the holes in the road result from the work carried out by the contractor in charge of the project to protect the city of Beni Khallad against floods, and that he is laying channels passing through the road as mentioned above.
It was agreed that the contractor would place a sweeper to smooth the potholes from passing the channels until the work is completed and the road is paved.
