The dean of veterinarians, Ahmed Rajab, confirmed in a statement to the press, on, Wednesday, October 16, 2024, that no case of highly contagious avian flu, transmitted from birds to humans, has been registered in Tunisia.
He emphasised the necessity for serious epidemiological vigilance and immediate reporting in the event of the observed death of certain birds, particularly since infections have been recorded in Algeria, in addition to the fact that we are currently experiencing the bird migration season.
He added that 60% of bacterial and parasitic diseases are transmitted from animals to humans, according to the World Health Organization.
