The quantity of bottled olive oil exported through April 2025 increased by 57.2 percent, according to data released by the Ministry of Industry, Mines, and Energy.
Tunisia exports bottled olive oil to Canada, the United States, and European and Gulf markets.
According to the same data, presented Tuesday at a meeting of the Tunisian Bottled Olive Oil Council, dedicated to monitoring the latest developments in the 2024-2025 bottled olive oil export season, the meeting was held under the supervision of Afef Chachi Tayari, Chief of Staff of the Ministry of Industry, and was attended by representatives of the administration, support structures, and professionals. The Council also monitored the implementation of the 2025 promotional advertising program for bottled olive oil, which is of public interest. The program aims to further strengthen the position of Tunisian bottled olive oil in promising foreign markets, promote Tunisian origins, and diversify export destinations.
The Technical Center for Packaging and Conditioning is responsible for preparing the advertising and promotional program for participation in major exhibitions such as the International Food Industries Exhibition in Dubai and the Food and Beverage Exhibition in London. It also organizes a promotional event for Tunisian olive oil in honor of the diplomatic corps accredited to Tunisia, and invites European trade delegations to Tunisia as part of the “Exporti” cooperation project. The meeting provided an opportunity to present the “Guide to Procedures for Granting and Disbursing Aid from the Bottled Olive Oil Promotion Fund,” which aims to simplify the grant registration and disbursement processes. This guide will be adopted once the procedures for receiving aid from the Fund are digitized.
