Tunisia : Bottled Water Consumption Exceeds 2 Billion Litres in Nine Months

The Director General of the Office national des eaux minérales et du thermalisme, Chehnaz Ayari Guizani, announced on Friday that national bottled water consumption in Tunisia reached approximately 2.1 billion litres during the first nine months of 2025, with an estimated value of nearly 790 million dinars.

Speaking to the Agence TAP on the sidelines of the 20th periodic conference of bottled water producers, held in Gafsa, Chehnaz Ayari Guizani stated that bottled water consumption rose by 8% between January and September 2025 compared with the same period in 2024. She attributed this increase to climate change and to growing demand for guaranteed-quality drinking water.

She further noted that the 20th periodic conference of bottled water producers serves as an evaluation meeting aimed at reviewing statistical data related to the bottled water sector, which is regarded as a strategic industry and a key driver of regional development, particularly given that bottling facilities are spread across the entire country, including Tunisia’s interior regions.
