ISIE president Farouk Bouasker held a press conference earlier to reveal the end of the voting operation and the start of the count of the bulletins in all polling stations, after their closure.
Boouasker clarified the Tunisian participation rate in the vote, which has not reached 9%, by the new voting system, on people, and in the absence of parties and their money, and exploitation media.
He pointed out that it was irrational to qualify participation rate as a shame, since, with their limited means, the candidates still managed to mobilize 800 thousand voters, while three candidates abroad were able to mobilize 2000 voters.
Bouasker confirmed that the ISIE has spared no effort to raise the awareness of voters, but that it is mandated to respect the law and preserve the state’s money.
