The Specialised Criminal Chamber for Terrorism Cases at the Tunis First Instance Court has sentenced Ali Laarayedh, former Interior Minister and leader of the Ennahda movement, to 34 years in prison. The charge: trafficking individuals into conflict zones and terrorism hotspots outside Tunisia.
Additionally, former security officials Fathi Al-Baldi and Abdul Karim Al-Abidi were each sentenced to 26 years in prison.
This ruling was delivered following a session held on Friday, May 2, 2025, where the court listened to the final statements of the accused before issuing its ruling.
