Remarking on the shocking video which was overwhelmingly shared last night on the social networks where we saw corpses piled up in the morgue near the trash cans, Dr Moncef Hamdoun from the forensic department at Charles Nicolle Hospital addressed the topic.
Hamdoun stated that approximately 18 deaths are registered daily in the health facility in question explaining, in the same context, that the morgue surpasses its maximum capacity.
“While awaiting the transportation of the corpses by the agents of the municipality, the bodies of the Covid-19 patients were placed in the room in special bags,” he said while specifying that the hospital will presumably purchase a refrigerated truck.
