Speaker of the House of People’s (HPR), Rached Ghannouchi signed on Monday the renewal of the cooperation agreement between the parliament and the German Hanss-Seidel Foundation, in the presence of the foundation’s regional delegate in charge of the Tunisia, Algeria and Libya office, Zid Dailimi.

Rached Ghannouchi indicated that the renewal of the agreement is part of the opening of the HPR on all cooperation and partnership initiatives so as to strengthen its capacities and potential in various fields and enrich parliamentary action, the HPR said in a statement.

For his part, Zid Dailimi highlighted the cooperation with the parliament since 2016, while stressing the importance of continuing this cooperation and ensuring the development of skills with all parties.

The renewal of the agreement is itself based on the technical cooperation agreement between the Tunisian government and its counterpart in Federal Germany, signed in Tunis on April 23, 1970 and adopted in accordance with Law No 1972/54 of July 29, 1972.

Several cooperation agreements between the HPR and the German Hanss-Seidel Foundation were signed during the first legislature of the parliament.
