Tunisia-Coronavirus: WHO adviser warns of devastating third wave

WHO adviser Souhail Alouini firmly warned this Monday, April 5, 2021, against the risk of a third wave of the coronavirus epidemic in Tunisia.
Speaking to Shems FM, Mr Alouini stated that Tunisia will be encountering a severe crisis and a third wave much more destructive than the first and second waves, he suggested.

He clarifies his words by highlighting the rate of infection is growing at a terrifying rate knowing that coronavirus infections have increased by 22.9%, while the total death rate is 75.3 per 100,000 people, according to figures from the coronavirus control commission.

Based on these rates, he specifies that the third wave, the starts of which were seen a few days ago, will be terrifying as have reached the maximum rate of hospitalization.

On another level, Souhail Alouini appealed to the Presidency of the government to immediately make a decision that could decrease the number of contaminations by setting a curfew from 7 p.m. or 8 p.m.
