Tunisia-Counterfeit currency network dismantled in El Manar

Tunisian security units dismantled a counterfeit currency network in an operation in which three sub-Saharans were arrested, Tunisia’s interior ministry said Wednesday.
“The operation took place in the region of El Manar in the province of Tunis,” said a statement released by the ministry.
During the operation, Tunisian authorities seized 297 counterfeit banknotes of 50 euros, 357 banknotes of 100 euros, 540 counterfeit banknotes of 200 euros and 432 counterfeit banknotes of 500 euros, in addition to a sum of the real national currency of 12,000 dinars, the statement said.
At the instructions of the public prosecutor, these individuals are placed in police custody before appropriate legal measures.
