Tunisia-Customs strike: Foreign trade is paralyzed

Speaking yesterday on a private radio, vice-president of the National Trade Union Chamber of International Trade Companies, Zied Jaouadi reflected on the strike carried out by customs officers and its consequences on foreign trade.
According to him, foreign trade is totally paralyzed because of the strike. “Various companies have now lost their export markets due to their incapability to meet their engagements. These are the catastrophic consequences, ”he stated. Indicating the legitimacy of the customs officials request, Jaouadi emphasised that this strike has worsened the exportation seen as a strategic sector that provides the country with foreign exchange.
It should be noted that the Unified Union of Tunisian Customs Agents delayed the day of national anger among customs officers initially programmed for today.
