COVID-19 updates in Tunisia:

Health authorities recorded 1.133  new cases and 28 deaths, bringing the death and infection tally to 8993 and 261.177 respectively.

In the same vein, WHO adviser Souhail Alouini firmly warned this Monday, April 5, 2021, against the risk of a third wave of the coronavirus epidemic in Tunisia. Speaking to Shems FM, he appealed to the Presidency of the government to immediately make a decision that could decrease the number of contaminations by setting a curfew from 7 p.m. or 8 p.m.

In terms of cultural activities, The Direction of the Opera Theater at the City of Culture Chedhli Klibi declared that all artistic performances and cultural events programmed for this week have been suspended due to COVID-19.

For his part, PM Hichem Mechichi presided over the scientific committee to combat the coronavirus during which he called to deploy a more effective communication policy regarding the health situation in the nation, by giving detailed information on the spread of the coronavirus

Closure of the Consulate General of Tunisia in Paris

The Consulate General of Tunisia in Paris informed that following the infection of many of its workers by COVID-19, it was decided to close it until April 12.

Kasserine: General strike on May 26

Deputy Secretary-General of the UGTT Monem Amira declared that a general regional strike will be observed on May 26, 2021, in Kasserine to condemn the decay of the social situation. According to Amira, negotiations with the administration will proceed to organize a ministerial council for the region.

Minister of Tourism and Nisaf Ben Alaya to visit Russia

The Minister of Tourism  Habib Ammar as well as the Director of the National Observatory for New and Emerging Diseases Nissaf Ben Alaya and the Secretary of State to the Minister of Foreign Affairs Mohamed Ali Nafti will pay a working visit to Russia from this Monday and till April 7.

The visit comes as part of efforts to promote the Tunisian destination and to attract the Russian tourist market.
