COVID-19 updates:
Health authorities reported that the death toll from COVID-19 has surpassed 13,0000 after reporting 47 new deaths, the tally now stands at 13027. Also, 1018 new cases were recorded, taking the infection toll to 356750.
Speaking to Shems FM, he emphasised that the current situation was expected, revealing that the contaminations curve had started to rise towards the conclusion of May, 15 to 14 days after the celebration of Eid.
On the level of vaccines, The Ministry of Health declared this Monday, June 7, 2021, that the total number of people who have been vaccinated since the commencement of the national vaccination campaign, on March 13, has reached 1,159,924 including 33,888 people vaccinated on Sunday, June 6.
President Kais Saïed receives the Director-General of Unesco
President of the Republic Kais Saied welcomed this Monday the Director-General of Unesco Audrey Azoulay at Carthage Palace who is currently carrying an official visit to Tunisia, as part of her participation in the eighth session of the Conference of States parties to the 2001 Convention on the Underwater Cultural Heritage.
The head of the state hailed the leading role that Unesco operates in the dissemination of science, education and culture throughout the world.
He also reaffirmed the call to consolidate partnership with Tunisia through the transformation of its project office into a country office in Tunisia and to secure that the Island of Djerba, which is preparing to host the 18th Francophonie Summit at the end of this year, is included in the UNESCO World Heritage List.
