COVID-19 updates in Tunisia:

Health authorities recorded 604 new cases and 25 deaths, pushing the death and infection tally to 8760 and 251,169 respectively.

In the same context, the UK COVID variant was detected in Meknassi , forcing local authorities to take a set of measures to curb the spread of the virus.

Rached Ghannouchi state of health

 

Following the news about the deteriation of Ghannouchi ‘s health, Member of Parliament Mohamed Goumani, categorically rejected the news, assuring that these are baseless rumours.

President Kais Saied and constitutional court

President of the republic Kaîs Saied received on Monday at Carthage Palace a group of law professors. The meeting focused on legal issues including the organic law amending the law dated December 3, 2015, on the Constitutional Court.

Swagg Man Sentenced to prison

Rapper Swagg Man was sentenced to five years in jail, along with a fine of 100,000 dinars.

Abdelkarim Zbidi said not to have mandated anyone to speak on his behalf

Speaking to the TAP agency, Former defence minister Abdelkarim Zbidi said that he did not mandate anyone to speak on his behalf concerning what was reported by former president Mohamed Ennaceur in his book “Two Republics, one Tunisia” and that all these statements engage only its authors.

On his part , Ennadha member Samir Dilou denounced the accusations of former house speaker Mohamed Ennaceur where he said that some  Tahya Tounes and Ennahdha MPs have attempted to instigate a coup to declare the vacancy of the post of President of the Republic and designate Youssef Chahed.
