The filling of Tunisian dams is estimated at 844 million cubic meters of water, until Friday, February 28, 2025, with a filling rate of 35.6%. These quantities surpass those registered on the same day last year (812 million cubic meters), and are lower than the average of the last three years, with a decrease of 22 million cubic meters.
Agricultural expert Anis Ben Rayana recalled that the filling rate of dams was around 19% at the end of 2024.
He emphasised that the revenues of dams remain low, as they amounted to 635 million cubic meters from September 1, 2024, to yesterday, while the average is 1 billion and 224 million cubic meters, which represents only 52 percent of the average.
As for rainfall, the average across the country was estimated at 179.5 mm, while the average is 154.5 mm, or 116 percent, voicing hope that the rains expected during March will support the dam stock and have a positive impact on cereals.
