Tunisia-Deadline for nominations for Constitutional Court prolonged to June 19

The bureau of the House of People’s Representatives (HPR) decided to extend the deadline for filing nominations for the Constitutional Court to June 19, 2020.

The elective plenary sessions should take place on July 8, 2020, it said in a statement Thursday.

In this regard, the bureau said the first deputy speaker of the parliament as well as the assessor in charge of relations with the judiciary and constitutional bodies have been instructed to conduct contacts with the heads of parliamentary blocs to reach consensus.

The HPR Bureau also decided to maintain the date of June 25 for a plenary session dedicated to dialogue with the government on the assessment of the first 100 days.

A coordination session with the minister in charge of relations with the parliament will be held on Tuesday, 16 June, in the presence of the heads of parliamentary groups, the statement added.
