Tunisia: Dinar Appreciates Against the Euro and US Dollar in the First Quarter

According to the Quarterly Economic Report for the first quarter of 2025, published by the Central Bank of Tunisia (BCT), the exchange rate trends of the Tunisian dinar and activity on the foreign exchange market at the end of March 2025—compared to end-2024 levels—indicate that the dinar appreciated by 2.5% against the US dollar. However, it depreciated by 0.7% against the euro, 1.3% against the Japanese yen, and 2% against the Moroccan dirham.

On the international markets, the euro gained 4.2% against the US dollar during the period under review.

In terms of average exchange rates, the dinar appreciated by 1.6% against the euro and by 1.0% against the Japanese yen.

Conversely, it lost 1.6% of its value against the dollar and 2.7% against the Moroccan dirham.
