President of the Republic Kais Saied announced yesterday that a draft presidential decree on the attachment of the structures of the Ministry of Local Affairs to the Ministry of the Interior was being prepared.
Remarking on the decision, Ennahdha Movement issued a statement condemning what it called an try to subjugate local power through the halt of Chapter VII of the constitution relating to local power.
In this sense, it evoked that the municipal councils are elected directly by the people, believing that the latter is not accountable for the environmental disasters which take place in certain regions, in particular in Sfax.
