The indictment chamber responsible for examining financial corruption cases at the Tunis Court of Appeal confirmed the conclusion of the investigating judge of the Financial Judicial Pole to expand the protective detention for an additional four months against the former first president of the Court of Cassation, Taïeb Rached, along with another dismissed judge.
The extension is pending the examination of a case linked to suspicions of corruption and money laundering. The investigating judge had issued an arrest warrants against Taïeb Rached, a dismissed judge, and businessman Najib Ben Ismail, in connection with an investigation related to a follow-up decision issued in 2019.
