A civil protection source told TAP news agency that the fires that broke out in Ouechtata and Zouaraâ under the delegation of Nefza (governorate of Beja) destroyed 10 hectares of forest.
According to the same source, the fire ravaged the fauna and flora of the region, including 80 hectares of trees, 9,200 fruit trees, livestock and homes.
According to him, civil protection units managed to stop the flames from spreading to a gas station near the fire in Ouechtata and avoid heavy damage.
