Minister of Foreign Affairs, Migration and Tunisians Abroad, Othman Jerandi spoke over the phone yesterday with his French counterpart Jean-Yves Le Drian.
M Jerandi reemphasised the condemnation of the terrorist act in Rambouillet which targeted a French policewoman, expressing Tunisia’s support for France.
He further affirmed that Tunisia refuses any form of extremism specifying that it would always be ready to support France to face this scourge.
The call was additionally an opportunity to address the distinguished bilateral relationships between the two nations and the means to further consolidate them.
For his part, Jean-Yves Le Drian stressed the friendly relations between Tunisia and France and their strategic nature in many fields.
The French minister also confirmed that his country will continue to support Tunisia to overcome the economic and social challenges, particularly during the next negotiations with the IMF as well as with the various international financial institutions.
