Foreign Minister Noureddine Erray met with Portuguese Ambassador to Tunisia José Frederico Ludovice on Tuesday
The meeting highlighted Fostering the Tunisian-Portuguese relationships at the bilateral level but also within the frame of the European Union institution.
The two sides focused on measures to step up discussions between the two parties on issues of mutual interest.
FM Noureddine Erray commended on this occurrence the warm and partnership relationships connecting the two countries, pointing out a willingness to promote bilateral collaboration in all fields, distinctly through the exchange of visits, the revival of tourist activities and the intensification of meetings between the two countries’ trade delegations.
He expressed gratefulness to Portugal for its assistance and cooperation in aiding the return of Tunisians stranded in that country following the COVID-19 pandemic.
In this respect, He evoked the course of the phone conversation held on April 22 between President Kais Saied and his Portuguese counterpart Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, during which stress had been laid on the significance of strengthening international solidarity to alleviate the outcomes of the pandemic.
On his part, José Frederico Ludovice stressed the close-knit relations between the two countries and the readiness to strengthen them at the economic, social and cultural levels.
