Tunisia-FTDES: More than 35,000 migrants intercepted since beginning of 2023

In its latest report on illegal migration, the Tunisian Forum for Socio-Economic Rights (FTDES) indicated that 235 dead and missing on the coasts of Tunisia have been registered since the beginning of the year, according to data reported by the Ministry of the Interior.

The same source added that 35,143 migrants were intercepted and distributed as follows;

  • January 2322 Migrants intercepted
  • February 5147 Migrants intercepted
  • March 7494 Migrants intercepted
  • April 4756 Migrants intercepted
  • May 4049 Migrants intercepted
  • June 3528 Migrants intercepted
  • July 848 *Migrants intercepted
  • Other figures (Statements by the National Guard spokesperson) 7,664 Migrants intercepted
