Tunisia-FTDJ denounces the legal proceedings engaged journalists under decree-law n ° 54

At the end of its meeting held yesterday, the Administrative Council of the Tunisian Federation of Journal Directors (FTDJ) hailed the last government decision connecting to the extension of the management of CNSS contributions of the written press for the 20222 and 2023.

The FTDJ pointed out, at the same time, an unprecedented decline in the situation of the press, in particular after the publication of the decree-law n ° 54 according to which journalists and the directors of the media institutions are  brought to justice.

The same source condemned the lack of communication between the media and the presidency of the government indicating that the authorities deal with certain institutions.

The Federation also recollected that the chairmanship of the government has not yet appointed the chairman of the committee responsible for approving professional cards.

The administrative committee has returned to the different monetary difficulties faced by media institutions stressing that the latter may be forced to close.

“The FTDJ seek to ensure the progress of the sector and calls on all those who have files against the media to seize justice as was the case with the British donation affair” adds  the press release.
