In a joint press conference organized by the Attakatol, Afek Tounes, Al Jomhouri, and the Democratic Current, the general secretary of the Democratic Current Ghazi Chaouachi called on the President of the Republic Kais Saied to come to his senses and to drop the measures having been taken by September 22.
He declared that the President of the Republic cannot be the single one to decide the future of the Tunisians, emphasising that the parties gathered today will not let the Head of State pass his “pipe dream”. Chaouachi reemphasised his call for a national dialogue with the participation of all political parties, believing that democracy is an imperative condition for Tunisia to emerge from the crisis.
