In an interview with La Presse, Ghazi Chaouachi uncovered the reasons for his departure from the Democratic Current.
He stated there were some mistakes linked to a loss of “partisan discipline”.
“When I sensed that I could not inflict this discipline, which is a key question for a political party, I chose to resign” he stated, insisting that the decision of his withdrawal was taken after having felt he had lost all control over the party.
Chaouachi further said that the political bureau decided to impose order and discipline to maintain the party’s credibility.
