Tunisia-Giving authorizations to cover the tuition fees of the children of diplomats: the ministry explains

Remarking on the fake news circulating on social networks, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs dismissed in a press release the false information concerning the procedures for giving authorizations for the reimbursement of tuition fees for children of diplomats and civil servants at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs working abroad within the framework of the State covering education expenses in foreign educational and university establishments.
It stressed that “the system of reimbursement of education fees for the children of diplomats and all ministerial officials overseas abroad is subjected to the terms set by Decree No. 167 of the year 1973 of April 6, 1973, and texts which modify and supplement it  ”.
In this context, the ministry has recently examined some authorizations for reimbursement of study costs granted in past years, in the application of the recommendations stipulated in the monitoring reports. Reports that have highlighted a set of situations improper to the content of the legislation and regulatory texts governing the process of assuming responsibility for the administration of children’s education expenses.
Anxious to secure all the rights of its workers within the framework of respect for legal and regulatory texts regulating professional life, the ministry further seeks to dispose of public funds suitably within the framework of compliance with legislation and regulations and to avoid any interpretation that could lead to abuse in their application.
