Tunisia-Hamadi Jebali sends letter to Ghannouchi and proposes himself as general secretary of Ennahda under certain conditions

The former prime minister and secretary-general of the Ennahdha Hamadi Jebali movement addressed a letter to the president of the Rached Ghanouchi Movement. Through this letter designated “Vision to resolve the situation and overcome the crisis”, Jebali offered “his diagnosis” of the situation within the movement while bestowing the solutions he recommends to resolve this situation. Indeed, Jebali has indicated that approval of this vision is a condition for him to join the movement. Indeed, Jebali has made it known that it is essential to stop the high-profile conflicts between the leaders.

The priority, he maintains, is to end the bleeding. In this sense, he said that this is the first time that the movement has passed through such a challenging route while considering that this pass is a significant turning point in the history of the Islamist party. Jeblali proceeded that after stopping the bleeding, an atmosphere must be prepared for a “frank and constructive” dialogue on the issues of the movement and the country. Consequently, it is necessary to prepare the 11th congress so that it is “a congress of union, reform and strategic planning”, according to the same source who adds that Ghanouchi must commit not to change the law organic movement.

Jebali indicated that this list could be modified. In addition, he felt that a consensus on the future role of the leader of the movement is one of the conditions contributing to overcoming the crisis. In the same context, Jebali indicated that it is necessary to think about creating what he called “the council of wise men of the movement”.
