The director of Pasteur Institute Hechmi Louzir declared today the discovery of the first case of the new omicron variant “Bq 1.1 ″ in Sfax after carrying genetic sequencing results.
He reassured of the gravity of this variant revealing that he does not pose any danger. Nonetheless, it is characterized by the fast spread of the infection.
Louzir has, in the same direction, revealed the reception of a new batch of vaccines in the next two weeks.
