Tunisia-I WATCH accuses government presidency and justice ministry of mismanagement

I Watch shared the minutes of the “secret” deal arranged between the presidency of the government and the ministry of justice on the one hand, and the Syndicat of Tunisian Magistrates, the Union of Administrative Magistrates and the Union of Judges of the Court of Auditors on the other.
As shared in a Facebook post, this agreement ended in awarding a bonus of 1325 dinars and 200 millimes excluded from tax in exchange for the halt of the strike and the resumption of work in the courts from December 24.
I WATCH deemed that this agreement was in opposition with article 10 of the constitution which acutely states that “The payment of taxes and the contribution to public charges, in accordance with a fair and equitable system, constitute a duty “. The organization added this agreement infringes the constitutional principle linking to equality between all citizens and does not respect some articles of the local tax code and the general public accounting code.
