Tunisia-Imed Hazgui: We will permit allow any foreign side to use the Tunisian territory for external military operations

Defence Minister Imed Hazgui visited on Friday  Borma and Ramada military centres bordering the Libyan and Algerian borders, as part of the commemorations of the 64th anniversary of the creation of the Army (June 24), on this occasion Hazgui, announced that Tunisia will not allow any foreign side to use the Tunisian territory for external military operations, alluding to numerous news that foreign powers such as Turkey and the United States are planning to use Tunisian soil as an opening point for operations in Libya.

Tunisia supports legitimacy in Libya and will support a political resolution in that nation, the minister stated, repeating refusal of “any military interference in the region. “We are ready to assist the Libyans in this approach,” he affirmed.

He added that the military institution is operating, in collaboration with its partners, to increase its capability to exercise its sovereignty over all its lands by land, sea and air.
