Ennahdha movement spokesperson Imed Khemiri asserted that the President of the Republic, Kaïs Saïed, informed the President of the Parliament, Rached Ghannouchi, during the last meeting between them, that there was no intention to dissolve the Parliament if the vote of confidence is no granted to prime minister-designate Hichem Mechichi government.
Imed Khemiri announced Monday that Kaïs Saïed asked for a meeting with the political parties represented in parliament at the Carthage Palace at 1 p.m., emphasising that this is the first time that the President of the Republic has called the parties to meet hours before the vote of confidence
Khemiri said the movement has reservations about some names in Hichem Mechichi’s government, adding that the ultimate decision on whether to support the government or not would rest with the Ennahdha Shura Council.
