Ennahda’s spokesperson, Imed Khemiri asserted that Rached Ghannouchi relinquished the presidential run in favour of Abdelfattah Mourou for several reasons.
Abdelfattah Mourou operated several impressive portfolios and undoubtedly possess outstanding leadership skills hence he is the most suitable candidate to represent Ennahda in the presidential race, Khemiri added.
