Tunisia-Infection with COVID-19 amid Carthage airport’s staff rises to 10

The tally of coronavirus infections among Tunis Carthage airport employees has increased to 10 people, the airport commander, Neji Zitoun, told the TAP agency.

The 10 contaminated agents work in the wheelchair service at the airport. They were all housed in a dedicated centre at COVID-19, he said, adding that 10 other employees in the same department tested negative and were subjected to mandatory lockdown.

The official also ruled out the idea of closing the airport, in which “an extreme level of vigilance was imposed with the obligation to wear protective masks for all employees”.

Screening tests will also be carried out on all airport workers of all specialities, in addition to the police and OACA employees who work there, he said.

Since Monday, July 27, 2020, 300 tests have been carried out. Every month, 400 tests will now be performed for all airport workers.
