At its meeting today, Monday, the Independent High Authority for Elections (ISIE) approved the results of the periodic lottering for the rotation of regional council members and the rotation of the presidency of local and regional councils for the period from June 5 to September 4, 2025.
ISIE President Farouk Bouasker signed the decision on the results of the lottering and authorized its publication in the Official Journal of the Republic of Tunisia and on the ISIE website. The authority also informed the Ministry of the Interior and the National Council of Regions and Provinces of the new composition of the elected councils, according to an ISIE press release.
The ISIE Executive Director presented the progress of the aforementioned lottering, which took place yesterday, Sunday, June 1, 2025, in all governorates of the Republic. The Council then reviewed the outstanding issues that hinder the exercise of the functions of elected councils. The ISIE Council agreed to inform the relevant authorities of these problems so that they can take appropriate measures to address them.
The Council of the Authority also approved the reclassification of the budget of the Independent High Authority for Elections to provide the necessary funds for the organization of partial legislative elections in the constituency of Bizerte-Nord (Bizerte governorate) and in the constituency of Degache-Hammet El Jerid-Tamghza (Tozeur governorate). It also approved the lease contract for the headquarters of the regional administration of the Independent High Authority for Elections in Kasserine.
