The spokesperson for the Sousse 1 court of first instance, Hedi Khassib announced that the indictment chamber today denied the request to the release of former Minister of the Environment, Mustapha Aroui, who is implicated in the case relating to the illegal importation of waste.
The same source added that the indictment chamber of the Sousse Court of Appeal validated the decision of the investigating judge, in charge of the case to the lifting of the travel ban of an executive at the Ministry of Environment.
On her part,Journalist and civil society activist Hamdi Ben Salah further declared that a protest rally is programmed for next Thursday outside the Italian embassy in Tunis to demand the return of illegal waste.
