It is worth recalling that Giorgia Meloni has paid several official visits to Tunisia, with a particular focus on migration, economic, and geopolitical issues. On June 11, 2023, she visited the country alongside Ursula von der Leyen and Mark Rutte to discuss a strategic Tunisia–EU partnership.
She returned to Tunisia on July 16, 2023, for the signing of the Tunisia–EU memorandum of understanding, which focused on cooperation in the areas of migration, trade, and the energy transition.
