The spokesman of the Ennahdha Imed Khemiri addressed today the demonstration movements of January 14. “What occurred is shameful and unacceptable. Protesters were stopped from marking Revolution Day and demonstrating. For their part, security units resorted to violence in flagrant breach of the Constitution and laws. Several overruns were registered on the same date: demonstrators were assailed, beaten, dragged and arrested. Security agents even attempted to hit the protesters with motorcycles. The whole world has witnessed the excessive practices that were done on January 14. All of this will be closely observed by the party and human rights activists to prosecute those involved,” he revealed.
The speaker, in the same vein, called for a severe inquiry to lift the veil on what transpired on January 14 as well as the details of the Ridha Bouzayen case.
