The Turkish ambassador to Tunisia was called to the ministry’s headquarters as part of the Turkish president’s recent remark on the situation in Tunisia, according to a statement released by the Foreign Ministry.
In a tweet, Foreign Minister Othman Jerandi noted that Turkish officials had been notified of Tunisia’s rejection of Erdogan’s statement, considering it interference in Tunisian affairs and that relations between the two nations should be based on respect for the independence of national decision-making.
