In Kairouan, five children died of the coronavirus, including a one-month-old baby. The head of the pediatrics department at Ibn Al-Jazzar hospital in Kairouan, Houcine Majoul, has confirmed the death of five children by the coronavirus.
The ages of the victims, three of whom were chronically ill, ranked from one month to 9 years old.
On Shems FM, Dr Majoul declared this Monday, June 28, 2021, that three of these children had contracted the Indian strain of the virus, remarking a notable increase in the number of children infected with the virus.
He also admitted that for the first time, contaminations and deaths were recorded among children.
