A massive fire broke out on Sunday night in a house in the Hajeb El Ayoun area, Kairouan governorate, claiming the lives of a woman and her son, according to civil protection sources.
Civil protection units responded to the scene and controlled the fire after hours of effort. The victims’ bodies were moved to the regional hospital in Sidi Bouzid, and an investigation has been launched to determine the exact cause of the fire.
Preliminary reports suggest that a blanket-catching fire caused the fire due to a heating device. Investigations are ongoing to confirm the exact circumstances of the incident.
