“When 21% of the nation’s GDP was possessed by one single family, congratulatory cards were sent after each election, knowing that it was a trimmed election. There is just one lobby and there are those who presumably perform the role of protecting the personal interests of the lobbies. It’s over and we are going towards a new stage in the history of Tunisia, where sovereignty belongs to the people and where the sovereignty of the State is not for sale at auction or in the stock exchange of institutions”, said the head of the state Kais Saied on Saturday during his meeting with the acting minister of interior Ridha Gharsallaoui.
“We are collaborating with nations and international institutions however they must respect the will of the Tunisian people,” he declared.
