President Kais Saied underscored, Wednesday, at the Carthage Palace, Tunisia’s commitment to further strengthening bilateral ties with Iraq across various sectors, including air transport, tourism, culture, energy, agriculture, and trade. During his meeting with Iraqi Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani, who is on an official visit to Tunisia, Saied emphasised Tunisia’s strong desire to enhance the bonds of brotherhood, collaboration, and exchange with Iraq. He called for adopting new approaches and partnership methods, different from those previously used, within a comprehensive vision based on the shared goals of both nations.
President Saied furthermore reiterated Tunisia’s firm stance on several issues, particularly the inalienable rights of the Palestinian people to reclaim all their rights and establish an independent state on the entire territory of Palestine, with Jerusalem as its capital. He highlighted the urgent necessity to intensify efforts to end the ongoing genocide and the daily atrocities being committed. The President stressed that the challenges facing the nation can only be overcome through unity.
