Tunisia – Kaïs Saïed on inspection visit to Ministry of Interior

President Kais Saied visited the headquarters of the Ministry of the Interior, where he met with Kamel Feki, Minister of the Interior, along with several high-ranking security officials. President Saied called for augmented efforts and dedication in fighting all forms of crime and guaranteeing the impartial application of the law to everyone, without exceptions.

He stressed the significance of dismantling influential groups across all sectors, which, regrettably, have infiltrated multiple administrative bodies. He pointed out that civil servants failing to fulfil their responsibilities towards citizens should not hold their positions.

An important concern raised by the President was the issue of corruption. He insisted on confronting corruption wherever it exists, understanding its causes, and addressing its growth. He criticized those who misuse their authority, given by law, for personal gain, noting that staying silent about falsehoods is a severe betrayal of truth.

President Saied also addressed the issue of people claiming patriotism while aligning with foreign powers or receiving support from Zionist entities. He noted that such actions, which he considered as betraying the homeland and the Palestinian people, should be met with legal consequences as outlined in the Penal Code, highlighting these acts as severe treason.

He further argued that true independence is not merely a documented agreement but a significant responsibility that must be safeguarded, warning against both direct and indirect forms of colonialism as equally hazardous.

Concluding the meeting, President Saied commented on the substantial challenges facing the nation, stressing the collective will to overcome these hurdles to safeguard freedom and independence and rid the country of corruption. He honoured the memory of the martyrs, describing the homeland not just as the ground beneath their feet, but as the core of their being, aspiring for a nation that is pure and untainted by corruption, betrayal, or external influences.
