Tunisia’s Minister of the Interior, Khaled Ennouri, announced on Tuesday, December 9, 2025, the launch of a national platform dedicated to monitoring the implementation of the National Road Safety Strategy, under the supervision of the National Road Safety Council.
Speaking at the opening of the 16th session of the Council’s meetings, Ennouri emphasized that applying this multi-sector strategy is essential to addressing ongoing challenges related to road safety.
Road safety, a national priority
The Minister stressed that road safety remains a top national priority due to the serious consequences of traffic accidents, including heavy human and material losses.
From reaction to prevention
Ennouri called for strengthening mechanisms of prevention, monitoring and evaluation, moving from a reactive approach to a proactive one, with the objective of reducing accidents and minimizing their impact.
He added that the launch of the new platform reflects a broader effort to modernize road safety governance and enhance coordination among public institutions and national partners in the sector.
