The lawyers of the Kairouan region observed, this Thursday, a general strike on all the courts of the territory, and organized a sit-in within the court of first instance of Kairouan.
The attorneys are requesting protection, following the upsurge of attacks that have targeted some of them and their offices, and are demanding an improvement in working circumstances in the Kairouan court, where several key judicial positions are vacant. This has resulted in endless postponements of hearings.
