In an official statement to Tunisie Numérique, memberof the Independent High Authority for the Elections (ISIE) Adel Brinsi asserted there is still a legal vacuum in Nabil Karoui’s case.
Brinsi said the ISIE had the jurisdiction to promptly send a joint correspondence with HAICA and Wataniya to the judiciary to request Karoui temporary release to ensure equal opportunities for candidates.
He added the judiciary shall have the final say in the matter, adding that it is not possible to interfere in the judicial proceedings.
