Tunisia – LEONI Tunisia expands and establishes itself in the south of the country

The third edition of the “LEONI Big Event” was held yesterday, Thursday, with a grand ceremony bringing together the leaders, executives, and talented members of the company specializing in the manufacture of automotive wiring harnesses. This event was an opportunity to present the results achieved in 2024 and the objectives set for this year and the years to come.
The company’s CEO, Mohamed Larbi Rouis, announced in a press statement that LEONI Tunisia achieved a turnover of approximately €650 million in 2024, with prospects for even better results in 2025.
The third edition of the “LEONI Big Event” was also the occasion to award the Ideal Worker Awards to nine workers from each production unit. These awards were given based on criteria of discipline, excellence, innovation, creativity, and other criteria. Leoni Tunisia, present in Tunisia for 44 years, generated 29% of the company’s global profits in 2024, ahead of Morocco, Serbia, Romania, Ukraine, Mexico, China, and Egypt.
Leoni Tunisia is one of the largest private-sector employers in Tunisia, with a job capacity of nearly 20,000 people, and exports its products mainly to Germany and France.
Rouis announced the creation of a new Leoni Tunisia unit in the south of the country, by 2026 at the latest, with an estimated employment capacity of between 500 and 1,000 workers. He stated that this expansion in the south reflects the desire to contribute to regional development, strengthen Leoni’s national influence, and serve its social environment. Continuing to discuss future projects, Mohamed Larbi Rouis mentioned the relocation of projects from other countries, such as Serbia, to Tunisia, and the strengthening of the Sidi Bou Ali unit. He added that there was a near-migration of projects to North Africa, with Tunisia accounting for the lion’s share.
He emphasized the need to seize this opportunity and exploit it to attract these projects, given the significant Tunisian talent and management available at LEONI Tunisia, both in terms of quantity and quality.
In the same context, he mentioned the LEONI Tunisia Competence Center, which has 500 managers and technicians and manages recruitment operations. He indicated that a decision had been made within the central unit in Germany that future recruitment operations would necessarily involve Tunisia.
