Tunisia- Majdi Ben Ghazala: There is no question of forming a government composed of Ennahdha, Qalb Tounes and the al-Karama Coalition

President of the National Council of the Democratic Current Majdi Ben Ghazala announced on Sunday that this authority only is enabled to pick on the names that will be submitted to the President of the Republic as nominees for the Prime Ministry, the TAP reported.

The party will select a personality who has separated himself by good performance, good political experience and who properly represents the party, he spoke on the sidelines of the 27th session of the National Council of the Democratic Current.
During its meeting on Sunday, the Council is examining numerous “burning” issues, he said, including the conflict of interest concerning the resigning Prime Minister Elyes Fakhfakh and the party’s candidacies for the post of Prime Minister, in particular, after receiving a letter from the President of the Republic to this effect.
It added that the Council will further review the motion of withdrawal of confidence from Speaker of the House of People’s Representatives (HPR) Rached Ghannouchi and the party’s new alliances concerning the governmental or parliamentary process, in addition to developments on the political and national scene.
The party will assess the previous stage to achieve a “stable” government capable of implementing its campaign slogan “a strong and just state,” Majdi Ben Ghazala stated, lamenting that the political landscape has returned to square one because of the serious tensions.
For his part, Democratic Movement deputy Nabil Hajji noted that the party’s decision on whether or not to participate in the government and to form alliances with the rest of the parties rests exclusively with the National Council.
“There is no question of forming a government composed of Ennahdha, Qalb Tounes and the al-Karama Coalition,” he said.
In a statement, yesterday to TAP, president of the democratic bloc in parliament Hichem Ajbouni and leader of the Democratic Current party did not rule out the possibility that his party would propose Mohamed Abbou and Ghazi Chaouachi to the president of the Republic to choose one of them as Prime Minister.
